FPAW 2022 Update

Dear Friends and Partners in Aviation Weather,

As we leave a challenging year behind, we look forward to beginning 2022 with fresh energy and hope to see you in person very soon. In the meantime, here are a few updates for you.

• The FPAW website has been updated and contains all presentation material from the Spring and Fall 2021 FPAW meetings. You may have also noticed that the website now includes material from past FPAW meetings, all the way back to 2001.

• The Spring 2022 FPAW Plenary meeting will take place during the week of April 18, 2022. A draft agenda is attached to this email.
  • If meeting in person is deemed feasible, the Spring 2022 FPAW meetings (Plenary and Planning) will take place on the campus of The MITRE Corporation in McLean, VA on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 19-20, 2022. There will be a remote participation option.
    Following the Tuesday morning (approximately 0800E – 1200E) Spring 2022 Planning meeting, which everyone is encouraged to attend, the Spring 2022 Plenary meeting will take up the afternoon (approximately 1300E – 1700E). The Spring 2022 Plenary meeting will then continue the following day, Wednesday, April 20, 2022, from approximately 0800E – 1700E.
  • Should ongoing pandemic-related health concerns and restrictions make an in-person meeting infeasible, our fallback position will be to hold the Spring 2022 FPAW Plenary meeting completely virtually on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, April 19-21, 2022, from approximately 1100E – 1600E daily. The Spring 2022 FPAW Planning meeting will then take place virtually from 1100E – 1600E approximately two weeks later, likely on Wednesday, May 5, 2022.
  • In consideration of everyone’s travel arrangements, we will aim to make and communicate the in-person/virtual decision in late February 2022.
