Membership

FPAW is open to anyone interested in aviation weather. We encourage everyone to join our vibrant community – it’s free! Active engagement with the aviation weather community at our biannual FPAW plenary meetings, ongoing participation in our issue-driven Tiger Teams, and assistance with the planning and execution of the FPAW plenary meetings is strongly and genuinely encouraged.

Steering Committee

The FPAW Steering Committee is comprised of representation from key stakeholder groups, as listed in our Mission Statement. Members of the Steering Committee will actively solicit input from their constituents for guiding FPAW activities and discussion of important matters. The Steering Committee may also be utilized to review and provide feedback on position papers that are intended to be published under the FPAW banner. The Steering Committee is composed of twelve members, three representing one of each of the four stakeholder groups. Initial selection of stakeholder group members will be done by the FPAW Co-Chairs. Subsequent selection to stakeholder groups will be based on agreement by a simple majority of current stakeholder group members plus the FPAW Co-Chairs. The nominal term of service on the FPAW Steering Committee is three years, with an option for renewal. The FPAW Co-Chairs are automatically members of the Steering Committee. The FPAW Steering Committee meets regularly, normally four times per year.
