FPAW is open to anyone interested in aviation weather. We encourage everyone to join our vibrant community – it’s free! Active engagement with the aviation weather community at our biannual FPAW plenary meetings, ongoing participation in our issue-driven Tiger Teams, and assistance with the planning and execution of the FPAW plenary meetings is strongly and genuinely encouraged.

The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and The MITRE Corporation (MITRE) are the stewards of the FPAW efforts. The present leadership comprises Matthias Steiner (NCAR) and Matt Fronzak (MITRE).

Steering Group

Moving forward, FPAW plans on using a steering group to solicit input for guiding its activities and to obtain feedback from its constituents on important matters like position papers, etc.  The group will have representation of key stakeholders.

Tiger Teams

Tiger Teams will be established on a need basis to address important aspects of particular interest to FPAW.
